Barrie Naturopath

We focus on women's health and general wellbeing.

Your First Visit

Your first appointment at our health care clinic with Dr. Mikhailau will last one hour, much longer than a conventional medical office visit. During the initial visit, you will discuss your complete health history in addition to your current conditions and symptoms, along with any medications that you are currently taking or may have taken in the past.

You will also discuss your diet, water intake, bowel movements, sleep patterns, activity level, and how you handle stress. After discussing your health and lifestyle history, Dr. Mikhailau will order labs, check for allergies, and conduct a full physical examination before developing a care plan.

With the help of the doctor, you will identify your health goals, and create a list of diet, lifestyle changes, and natural remedies to achieve them. Objective lab results combined with your subjective story are used to tailor the most effective individualized treatments. The doctor will then discuss the treatment plan with you, not just for you, and address any questions or concerns you may have.

Follow-up visits at our clinic are 30 minutes long and scheduled one to two weeks later to assess how effective treatment has been, and to make any necessary changes. Patients generally see and feel results about a month of following the recommended treatment plan.

Not sure if naturopathic health care is right for you? We are rated among the best health clinics in Barrie, Ontario! Feel free to give us a call with any questions you may have.

About Naturopathy

Naturopathic medicine is an alternative medicine based on the theory that medical conditions can be successfully treated or prevented with holistic, non-invasive remedies along with techniques such as proper diet, exercise and even acupuncture.

Wellness is promoted by identifying the unique aspects of each patient and then employing natural therapies that work in conjunction with the body's ability to cure and heal itself.

These natural remedies help to restore psychological, physiological, and structural balance. Instead of focusing on the symptoms of a disease, our naturopathic physician, Dr. Mikhailau, will focus on its cause. In naturopathic therapy, the disease is seen as the body indicating that something is out of balance.

Naturopathic Medicine is Based on Six Principles:

First, do no harm

Therapies that are gentle, non-invasive, effective, and do not have adverse side effects.

The Healing Power of Nature

Naturopathic physicians facilitate the body's inherent ability to maintain and restore health.

Identify and Treat the Causes

Naturopathic therapy treats the underlying cause of illness rather than just the symptoms of the disease.

Doctor as Teacher

The primary role of naturopathy is to educate, empower, and motivate patients to take an active role in their health by adopting a healthy diet, lifestyle, and attitude.

Treat the Whole Person

Naturopathic physicians believe that it is the patient in need of treatment, not the symptom of the disease. The goal is to treat the symptoms that define the patient rather than ones that define the disease.

Prevention

Naturopathic doctors evaluate both subjective and objective information to determine your potential risks for future diseases and assist you in formulating behavioral or nutritional changes to prevent them.
